The School of Journalism is proud to launch Ad+PR Online.
The new initiative is designed to bundle the School’s Advertising and Public Relations classes into a convenient package. The classes are ideal for media professionals who want to learn more about the digital side of Ad+PR without moving into a dorm.
JOUR 154 New Media Literacy is a great class for beginners who want to ease into the world of digital media. Students will learn all about social media and complete hands-on assigments to really apply the content.
JOUR 341 Principles of Advertising online is a special edition of the class for non-majors. Chris Houchens, marketing consultant and author of âBrand Zeitgeist: Embedding Brand Relationships into the Collective Consciousness,â will teach the spring class. Houchens is a past president of the Bowling Green Professional Marketing Association and was the organizationâs 2007 âMarketer of the Yearâ.
JOUR 355 Fundamentals of Public Relations is offered as ITV class and a web version in the spring.
Online classes provide a convenient option for traditional students, media professionals and business owners who need to update their digital skills without missing work. Class participants will build on the work experience they have and further their knowledge in an area that is not only applicable, but also essential for business success in todayâs recovering economy.
Social Media is rapidly becoming the face of the advertising and public relations. The concepts and techniques of Ad+PR are continually changing and Ad+PR Online is a perfect option for those who want to keep up with the next generation of media.
All three courses are currently open for registration. Contact Cliff Shaluta at cliff.shaluta@wku.edu for more information.
